Music Composition Summer Camp
ACM presents a new summer camp for young composers interested in learning more about electro-acoustic music.
Students will work with instructor Jeff Kowalkowski to create a new piece of electro-acoustic music over a three-day intensive workshop. Classes will meet at ACM’s Avondale location at 2860 N. Milwaukee Ave. Students will use the DAW of their choice and a mixing board and speakers will be provided by ACM.
This workshop is presented in conjunction with Elastic Arts Foundation and students will use the CLEAT system installed at ELASTIC to create and develop their pieces. The workshop will culminate in a live performance.
Jeff Kowalkowski is an accomplished composer, pianist and instructor who teaches at DePaul University, Northeastern University and at Access Contemporary Music. This workshop is an exciting opportunity for students to work with an experienced composer to learn to create electro-acoustic music on a state-of-the-art system.
Class dates: July 30 – August 1st 9AM until Noon.
Final concert: August 2nd at 6:00 PM
$200/student
Ages 12 and above, with acceptance to program
