David P. Resnick is a Shareholder in the Buchalter Law Firm’s Chicago office and a member of the Real Estate and Real Estate Finance practice groups.  David maintains a national practice concentrated in commercial real estate development, leasing and finance matters. He has over 24 years of experience handling all facets of commercial real estate transactions, including the acquisition, sale, financing and leasing of industrial, office, residential, retail and mixed-use properties. David also provides an array of dedicated legal services to hospitality clients with respect to their real estate, finance and operational matters.

In addition, Mr. Resnick negotiates construction, joint venture and divestiture agreements for real estate development and investment transactions. He represents banks and other financial institutions and private enterprises in the negotiation and documentation of mortgage, mezzanine, bridge, and structured debt.

David is a huge believer in the immense power and value of volunteerism, and this belief has inspired his work with organizations that are very important to him.  For 10 years, he served on the Board of Directors for Urban Gateways, a historic Chicago nonprofit that provides arts education for underserved youth.  He also served for 12 years on the Board of Trustees for the Illinois market of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, ultimately as the Board Chair.

David’s passion for music spans across his lifetime with parents who are committed supporters of the arts and violin studies starting at the age of 7.  He studied double bass performance in college and continues to play casually.  These days he and his wife are committed to fostering a love of music in our young children.
