Exclusive Sneak Peek at the Opera La Jetée

Chicago Fringe Opera, Lux Cantorum Chicago and Access Contemporary Music are teaming up to produce an operatic adaptation of Chris Marker’s classic film La Jetée which has inspired countless artists, including Terry Gilliam in Twelve Monkeys.

A man is sent back and forth in time by pseudo-scientific experimenters to find a solution to the world’s fate after the devastation of a world war.  He is haunted by his memories and enthralled with a woman from the past with whom he’d like to have a future.  But the past isn’t so easy to escape.

This will be an unstaged workshop of the opera for the four principal roles and choir with piano accompaniment and refreshments and a short talk back session to follow.

The event is free but space is limited so please register through the form below. Masks are required for all audience.

Saturday, August 27 8:00 PM
Nevermore Theater
3411 W. North Ave.
Free with registration
